Well done to BiG Challenge winners ‘Aroma Blossom’

Every year, school children all over Sheffield take part in something really BiG. The BiG Challenge is competition where pupils set up their own mini businesses and the best business of the year wins a trip of a life time.

This year, 243 business teams took part in the competition and were given £25 to invest in their business idea. The total profit generated from the competition was £8035 which on average, had a return on the initial investment of 1060% by the top 30 teams. All of these teams were in a bid to be the best BiG team 2014 and would be rewarded with a business trip to Berlin.BiG Challenge Awards

The winner of the year’s BiG  Challenge was Aroma Blossom from Tapton School. They produced handmade candles, bath bombs, soaps and body butters all from natural, vegan and Eco friendly products. This team won because of the high quality of their products and their exceptional business skills. The team said ‘ The fact that we had very little knowledge of the business world meant that the BiG Challenge was new and exciting to us. Our curiosity and also our eagerness to learn motivated and inspired us’

I think that this is a great example where if you put your mind to something, that you can have some amazing results and learn new skills along the way. Congratulations to Aroma Blossom and have a fantastic time in Berlin.
