Enterprise Education
Enterprise is having ideas and doing something about them. It is making ideas happen.
Here at The University of Sheffield, Enterprise Education is very important to us. We want to make sure that every student has an opportunity to learn the skills to be enterprising, and we know the best way to do this is through the curriculum. An enterprising curriculum provides opportunities for students to become creative problem-solvers, apply their academic knowledge into real life situations and develop skills managing limited resources under uncertainty. This translates into a richer learning experience and a boost to the students’ confidence and employability.
If you are a student, you can find out more about what is going on in your curriculum in the ‘Opportunities’ and ‘Success Stories’ section of our website.
If you are a member of staff looking for information, support and resources about enterprise education then you can find a link to download The University of Sheffield’s Enterprise Education Strategy in the sidebar (right). At the moment we are very busy constructing a new site for staff, which will be full of things we hope will be useful to you, such as case studies, links to external resources, an events calendar, and research related to enterprise education. Please keep your eye on these pages and we will let you know when it is up and running. In the meantime, please contact one of our Enterprise Learning Development Officers (ELDOs) if you have any questions or are looking for support to develop your curriculum.
