Maria C. Barluenga, Enterprise Learning Development Officer
Maria works with academics across all faculties to support the development, administration and delivery of embedded enterprise modules. She contributes to the promotion of all aspects of enterprise to students, academic and support staff and others. She supports the Mapping Officer to undertake a full mapping exercise of the current status of embedded enterprise across the university.
Alison Bestwick, Enterprise Learning Development Officer
Ali oversees the running and development of Making Ideas Happen whilst Anna Nibbs is on maternity leave. She also provides support to embed enterprise in the curriculum, and is looking at ways of developing and maintaining networks of enterprise educators (and enterprising students) within the University and beyond.
Samantha Deakin, Digital Editor
Samantha generates and edits the bulk of the content on this website and in our printed marketing materials. She also manages the dissemination of new content and information through our three social media profiles. Samantha works to form strategic and creative marketing plans to help spread the word of USE.
Janet Grant, Enterprise Officer
Janet is responsible for our First Steps Funding and organising our Skill Build workshops. She is also our contact for external businesses, engaging them to help and assist students and graduates with their enterprising projects.
Elaine Maslanyk, Enterprise Projects Administrator
As Projects Administrator, Elaine works on a number of areas of administration in connection with specific USE projects and assists the Enterprise Learning Development Officer with the development and implementation of a university-wide generic Enterprise module.
Maria Matiaki, Director of Student Affairs, International Faculty
I am the Director of Student Affairs at the International faculty, and I will be coordinating enterprise activities for our Students in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Anna Nibbs, Enterprise Learning Officer (on Maternity Leave)
Anna coordinates and supports several curriculum development projects in USE, enabling her to work with a diverse range of enterprising students, staff and externals. Her responsibilities include: progressing ideas for potential graduate spin-out companies; providing support to embed enterprise in the curriculum; and the continuing development of our interdisciplinary credit-bearing module in enterprise and innovation, Making Ideas Happen.
Sara Pates, Enterprise Business Manager
Sara guides the strategic development of USE activities and the management of the USE team. She loves that she gets to work with such committed, impassioned, and “can do” students and graduates.
Liz Ree, Information Officer
Liz ensures our enterprise information and resources are lively and current. Her favourite part of her job is managing the Enterprise Interns. She also keeps everyone informed about all the great things that USE does.
James Trafford, Mapping Officer
James is in the process of mapping the provision of embedded enterprise education in the curriculum across the University. It is hoped that this project will highlight existing successes as well as providing opportunities for USE to assist academics in offering enterprise education.
Alison Wright, Zone Administrator
Alison is an indispensable member of the USE team and works on all areas of administration. Alison also takes responsibility for the maintenance of the building and ensuring that everything runs as smoothly as possible.
