1 April 2015 - 5:50 pm The enterprising holiday police

It’s true, I’m an enterprise freak. To me enterprise = savviness = something I MUST do. Therefore, you’d expect that my holiday planning would be a truly enterprising operation. So how do you plan a trip and be savvy about it? Well, let me tell you… Continue reading “The enterprising holiday police” »

19 March 2015 - 10:19 am Well of course, it’s “A Matter of Course”!

And so a second week has passed since you joined us at the “A matter of Course” event here at the Enterprise Zone… Or maybe you weren’t here? Fear not, I would love to tell you exactly what happened on that thoroughly enterprising Tuesday afternoon.

It was a cold winter day, and yet our hearts were warmed by the excitement and anticipation of the things to follow. It all started at 12:30, when lovely food and the first few of our guests arrived at the Zone. The chewing and chatter begun in earnest, as we were readying ourself for the event commencement. At 1 pm as we were all full of food for both thought and belly, we started our discussion on Enterprise. Continue reading “Well of course, it’s “A Matter of Course”!” »

10 February 2015 - 9:55 am You won’t be a student forever… Think of your financial future now!

As students we all get used to living the easy life of limited financial responsibilities, especially with the added safety net of our beloved student overdraft. This lovely set up makes it easy to live in the moment, and forget about the future of your finances. But really, now is the perfect time to build the foundations of your future financial mansion! Working on improving your credit report is the easiest thing, once you know what to look for.  Continue reading “You won’t be a student forever… Think of your financial future now!” »

29 October 2014 - 3:24 pm Did I HEAR this right? A quick ‘heads-up’ on HEARable activities at USE

It’s this time of the year again, when new students arrive at Sheffield. They’re full of freshers flu and excitement (and they are spreading both in all directions!). Are you one of those students? Or maybe you’ve been in Sheffield for a while, but just don’t know what to get involved in? If either of these apply to you, then read on, as there are many things that your new/old uni has to offer. 10 October 2014 - 5:06 pm From Zero to Complaints Hero

I used to HATE making complaints… then I learnt that, sometimes, complaining is the only way to get things right. You may think it is too much hassle to complain about small (or even big) issues, maybe instead you’re suffering in silence? Well, complaining is the way forward! Hi guys! My name is Maggie, and I am the Embedded Enterprise Intern at USE. I'm studying Biomedical Science, currently in my final, aka the scariest year. In my blog you’ll read about me trying to work out what to do with myself after uni (a common struggle among the final year students). And, as I love being enterprising and savvy with my money (or SLC’s money!), I’ll also write about all the weird and wonderful things you can do to make your funds stretch further… Everyday enterprise - that's what I'm about!
