Events for September 2017
Want to know more about enterprise? Want to find out what takes to be an entrepreneur? Got a business idea and need some guidance, or not quite sure where to start? Join our online summer school course which will help you develop your knowledge about what it takes to be enterprising and how to develop your skills.
You don’t necessarily have to have a business idea but it will inspire you, develop your commercial awareness skills and take you through the idea generation process. It is entirely online, you are free to complete the course over 2 weeks at the end of August whenever suits you best!
Whether you’ve recently graduated or are looking to build your skills in preparation for another year at university, it’s a great opportunity to gain experience you can add to your CV – all in just a couple of days’ work.
The programme covers the basics of entrepreneurship, including ideas generation, how to assess your ideas, legal structures and the importance of enterprise to the UK. On each day you will have a lesson, which will take about two hours to complete, followed by a small task and a reflective blog. By the end of the course, as if by magic, you will have produced a Business Model Canvas.
Upon successful completion you will gain a certificate from USE and don’t forget, it counts towards both HEAR and the Sheffield Graduate Award.

Jerome’s perseverance and persistence helped him raise Angel investment and has led to him launching PHROOTI Water: a refreshingly fruity, naturally low-sugar drink that has no added sugar or sweeteners and uses real crushed fruit, rather than just juices like their competitors.
