If you have the misfortune to be spending the majority of your summer in rainy, lukewarm Great Britain, it’s possible your deckchair and beach towel won’t be getting much of a look-in. So, with all those months yawning ahead of you before it’s time to get back to work, why not take the opportunity to do something productive?
The Enterprise Summer School Online could be just what you need if you’re looking for a way to amp up your enterprise and employability skills. Whether you’ve recently graduated or are looking to build your skills in preparation for another year at university, it’s a great opportunity to gain experience you can add to your CV – all in just a couple of days’ work.
The Summer School programme is free, short, interactive and super flexible. It’s all completed online within roughly two days, meaning not only that you can build some valuable skills without having to leave your house, but also that you can easily mould it around your internship, holiday or other plans – whatever it is you’re doing with your summer months.
The programme covers the basics of entrepreneurship, including ideas generation, how to assess your ideas, legal structures and the importance of enterprise to the UK. On each day you will have a lesson, which will take about two hours to complete, followed by a small task and a reflective blog. By the end of the course, as if by magic, you will have produced a Business Model Canvas.
Launched for the first time in 2012, the Summer School has proven both popular and successful, with around 80 students and graduates completing the course in its first year and over 300 taking part in the 2nd. A quick, flexible and valuable fountain of knowledge, you’d be crazy to miss out.
Oh, and remember, this course is FREE to all current students and recent graduates of The University of Sheffield.
