Our Network

USE has a wide network of contacts. Within the University of Sheffield, we have contact with students and departments. And externally, with businesses and enterprise related organisations.

As well as our business and student networks, we also have our social networks on the web. Follow what we’re doing and get involved by adding us on your favourite social networking sites.

    Enterprise Links

Enterprise Links are students who provide USE with a key connection to academic departments across the University. Enterprise Links promote enterprise to their fellow students in ways that suit their particular academic discipline and departmental arrangements.

Their work includes distributing enterprise information, directing fellow students to University of Sheffield Enterprise (USE), the Careers Service and other parts of the University and keeping USE staff up to date with departmental developments. Enterprise Link students are appointed and trained annually. These will be announced on the USE website shortly.

    Interns

Each year the Enterprise Zone employs current students as paid interns. Working as an Enterprise Zone intern provides opportunities for learning and skill development beyond your course and can help shape your future career.

The role of Enterprise Zone intern has three facets:
Working with colleagues to deliver the operational work of the Enterprise Zone building and activities, e.g. reception and events work
Working with staff to deliver specific projects, e.g. leading the weekly delivery of the Skill Build programme
Working with fellow interns to create and deliver intern designed projects, e.g. participation in ‘The Intern’ competition.

We encourage our interns and other students to lead and organise their own events, working together or alone. Our Interns have led a number of successful events, including the Christmas Flea Market and “The Intern” competition.
