Wow it is the FINAL term of the FINAL semester- what will you be up to?
I don’t know if I can believe it myself…University will soon come to an end for me, and I am sure for one or two of you too. I seriously never believed this time in my life would arrive. It feels like yesterday that I started my first day as a Geography undergraduate, meeting my first year flat mates and attending my first lecture- I literally feel as though I could touch that memory, it feels just like yesterday- or perhaps an even clearer memory than yesterday- scary stuff! 20 June 2014 - 12:30 pm The one where it’s my last post.
If you have read any of the other ‘goodbye’ posts from my fellow interns (here, here and here) you’ll notice a common trend: no one likes saying goodbye apparently. Understandable; saying goodbye means you have to leave the people, things and places you have become attached to, the things that have shaped who you are as a person. Personally, I’ve never really had any issues with goodbyes, I’ve had to leaves jobs, people and of course colleges and schools before but I’ve never really looked at goodbyes in a negative way. I usually always look at them positively, excited to tackle the next thing ahead of me. But this one feels different, this one is going to be harder.

I hate goodbyes. I hate them. It’s not because I’m an emotional wreck who can’t keep it together; you’re looking at the one guy who didn’t cry at the end of Toy Story 3 (not much at least). Nor am I afraid of the change they represent; I’m of the opinion that you rarely lose touch with the things that matter, like friends, workmates and weirdos you love to facebook stalk.
