This year saw a fantastic turnout for our Social Innovation Lab. The programme sold out within a couple of weeks and proved to be a popular opportunity amongst our student population.

We know that our students are passionate about making a difference in their community and this social enterprise focussed programme enabled them to not only learn about social entrepreneurship but to also devise business concepts in teams and develop potential social enterprise ideas that could actually be realised and make a difference. Hi there! My name is Darren Chouings and I recently joined the USE team as an Enterprise Officer. 30 September 2013 - 10:25 am Bringing MakeSense to Sheffield

Last summer I stumbled upon MakeSense and I was fascinated by its mission to mobilise people to solve social issues together, online and offline. It connects social entrepreneurs with individuals that have the talents, skills, ideas, and passion to help with their challenges. Thousands of people across the globe have come together in the past three years to help more than 400 social entrepreneurs with their specific challenges. I’ve been stalking and participating in the global community ever since.
