30 October 2015 - 11:58 am A weekend to make the change!
“Do. Or do not. There is no try.” – Yoda, Jedi Master
Startup Weekends are fun packed entrepreneurship exercises in which you’ll learn much more than just starting a business. In brevity, Startup Weekends are two and a half day events; they start on a Friday evening when people pitch their ideas (It could be you too, if you have got one!). Then the participants choose the idea they would like to be part of. The next day the teams build their product prototype and also reach out to their market to understand the challenges their business idea would face. On the final day the teams present their ideas to the judges and win prizes!

I’m talking proper dreams, not little anxious day dreams. I mean, I actually think it’s real. I like to think of it as practice, you know like a run-through, so when problems do happen – like dream Chris and dream James disappearing before final presentations and me not being able to set up the livestreaming without them – I’ll be totally prepared… right?
28 March 2013 - 10:11 am The cognitive development of StartUp Weekend Sheffield: birth to adolescence
So, I just got back from an amazing trip in Brazil. I was there for four days (yea, I know… 14 hour flights suck when you’re not staying for long) and I was there for work. The purpose of my visit was to attend a summit for organisers of StartUp Weekends across the world. You may remember that USE ran one back in November and it was AWESOME, basically consuming my life for an entire month. 11 November 2012 - 8:51 am The calm before the storm
As I’m writing this, it’s 8.36am on a Sunday and I’m the only person in the zone. The lights are on, the pots are washed and breakfast arrived just as I started writing this sentence. It’s quiet. It’s peaceful. But I doubt it will be for long.
