3 April 2015 - 12:48 pm “I think you need to de-stress…”

If I had a pound every time I thought that or had someone say that to me, I think I would be rich by now. It is also easier said than done. But can changing your attitude make it easier to deal with the big stressful things. Continue reading ““I think you need to de-stress…”” »

23 March 2015 - 10:42 am How to get through your dissertation

That dreaded time has arrived for many third years…dissertation time.

21 March 2015 - 2:34 pm Reclaim your Lunch Break

So I am probably the worst person for doing this… I get a little too engrossed in my work and don’t want to stop doing whatever the thing might be… but now is the time to take action, I need to reclaim my lunch hour.

According to this article, only three in 10 people actually take a lunch break even though it is proven to reduce stress in the workplace, help you be more productive and help you maintain a better work/life balance. 16 November 2014 - 1:22 pm Who wants to be an Entrepreneur?

This is a question that we seem to ask quite a bit here at USE.  However, in an up and coming event you will be able to ask a group of people who have been there and done that, why they became an entrepreneur. What are the advantages and disadvantages of working for yourself and my favourite question- what they think is their biggest achievement? Continue reading “Who wants to be an Entrepreneur?” »

8 November 2014 - 2:04 pm Cupcakes to enterprise

During my recent blog training at USE we were presented with three pictures: Dracula, a cupcake with candle in it, and a group shot of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ cast.

We were asked to talk about how each of these related to enterprise. Initially I was like, “what? I have no idea.” But the more I thought of it, the more ideas started flooding in. Continue reading “Cupcakes to enterprise” »

10 May 2014 - 12:00 pm A spoonful of negotiation helps the medicine to go down..

My favourite film of all time is Mary Poppins. With Julie Andrews belting out a few catchy songs, cartoon penguins and flying umbrellas- what is there not to love? Although this film had a fairytale ending, it could have nearly never happened..   Continue reading “A spoonful of negotiation helps the medicine to go down..” »
